The field type 'Definition' is used in a number of cases. The simplest is that of a combo box from which to select a predefined value.
Below we would like to explain the functionality with an example. In the field definitions, open an additional field with the name 'Department'. Click at 'Field type' on 'Definition'. Now save this field or the mask and exit WebAdmin. In WebDMS you can now only enter previously defined department names (no department corresponds to a field left empty). A wrong spelling is thus excluded.
When selecting the predefined values, note that it is sufficient to enter the first unique letter. The corresponding entry from the selection will be selected and you can definitely transfer the entry into the field by pressing the 'Enter' key.
