25.11.2 Upload to folder

The FTP server was originally designed to work with FTP-enabled digital copiers. In the meantime, however, any documents can be placed in the archive via FTP upload. At the moment there are the following folders:

  • office: Import of arbitrary files (there is no OCR recognition, but text extraction).
  • pdf: Import of scanned PDF files (OCR recognition is done).
  • tiff: Import of scanned tiff multipage files (OCR recognition is done).
  • lbs: Cold import from ERP solution.
  • tosca: Cold import from ERP solution.
  • axapta: Cold import from ERP solution
  • xerox: Import from Xerox copiers
  • lists: Import of definitions for selection fields

Image tip Please note: If you put a file directly into the subfolder (e.g. office), the import is always into the database archivista.. If the file is to be imported into another database, you must copy the file into the appropriate subfolder (e.g. a file must be placed into \office\archiv if it is to be placed into the database 'archive' as an office document.

Image tip During file import the files are processed with the respective first scan definition. Since 2013, additional folders can be opened in the respective subfolders to call the desired scan definition for processing during file import. E.g. with the folder 'Color' you can achieve a processing with the scan definition 'Color'. This also makes sense, for example, if you already want to tag certain fields, see the default fields under 14.3.1.
