26.6 Sound and Video
Under this puct you can find all applications to work with audio and video files.
The main programs are:
- Record screen with OBS: Easily create your own videos of working with ArchivistaBox Desktop. The recordings can be uploaded (streamed) to video files or directly to Internet portals.
- Reading CDs with ASunder: With this program you can prepare audio CDs so that they can be transferred to ArchivistaDMS.
- Subtitle movies with Aegisub: Easily add movie titles to any video.
- Composing with Rosegarden: Work with MIDI files and become a hit producer.
- LosslessCut: Remove specific sequences from videos quickly and easily. LoosslessCut can be recommended especially when it comes to cutting out commercials in recorded TV shows.
- Play media with VLC: playback program for audio and video files.
- Median Archive with Kodi: The Kodi media player offers a fancy interface to play image, sound and movie files. Kodi can be extended by plugins (apps). Kodi is good for quickly going through existing folder structures to prepare the files for ArchivistaDMS.
- audio files with Audacity: This program can be used to edit sound files easily and efficiently. Audacity also works very efficiently when spoken text (e.g. dubbing of videos) is to be recorded.
- music notation program with MuseScore2: This program can be used to create music pieces using sheet music. The compositions can be exported as PDF and Midi files.
- Create Optical Disc with xfburn: Use this program to create CDR, DVD and M-Disk discs. Creating archive discs for ArchivistaBox is described in 25.9.
- Tagging music files with Easytag: This program can be used to better categorize audio files with keywords.
- Edit videos with Shotcut: Cut video files with any number of tracks and create video productions.
- SimpleScreenRecorder: Easily record screen content.
