In the start menu (Windows key or click with the mouse button on the icon at the bottom left) the program 'Synaptic' can be started under 'System management'. This can be used to install any applications provided by the base system (currently Devuan Beowulf).
To install programs, a login with 'root' is required. After that you will find the following program:
First you have to update the current program directory. To do this, click on 'Reload'. The directory will be updated:
Now you can search for the application via 'Search'.
Listed packages can be marked for installation by clicking the right mouse button on the entry.
Additional dependencies (more packages) may need to be added.
The desired programs can now be installed with 'Apply'. There is a control query again.
During the installation there are status messages.
After that the software is installed and you can start working with it immediately.
The programs are initially installed only in the main memory. If you want them to be available beyond a reboot, you have to activate the programs permanently via the Start menu, there ArchivistaBox and settings with 'Save programs'. However, this means that these programs are reinstalled after every restart.
