For manual editing, a linked field can be useful, because often the uniqueness of the keywording is only achieved by a number and text field that are 'linked' to each other.
This type of field often occurs when using barcodes: a number field has a text field associated with it, and if the number field can be filled in by the barcode, the other field is completed by the system with the appropriate term.
Example: A company active in the personnel rental business has several hundred customers, some of whom have similar names. With manual keywording, 'Smith Company' and 'Smith Trust' can be better distinguished by also displaying the customer number in the selection.
To enter new values, just click on the 2#2 to the right of the field. This will capture both the definition and the associated number.
Besides the combination 'Textfield-Numbers' there is also the combination 'Textfield-Text', for example to use codes for customers (muell1, muell2).
