This check program is used to clean up any incorrect check digits in the database. There are two check processes. In the first step, the check digits are checked for each document. This step may be necessary if there are keys in older databases that are no longer up to date.
In the second step, it is possible to overwrite the check digits of the external files in the database. This may be necessary if the captured external files have been edited with external programs. have been edited. An example: An already existing video file is to be changed afterwards (e.g. adding logo). The after edited file is directly overwritten with the same name. The check program 'Check external content' will inevitably generate an error message. Nevertheless, the changed file should be 'marked' as correct. By specifying the corresponding document number (file), the external check digit can be written to the database afterwards.
Normally it should not be necessary to overwrite check digits. Before this is done, the external file should be carefully checked for integrity. Special check programs can be used for this purpose, or the file can be played back completely. Only when the integrity of the file(s) is clear, check digits can or should be updated.
