Year 2024

Brief overview of 2024

The primary purpose of the past year was to put ArchivistaBox on a new footing in the five-year cycle. The following milestones were achieved.

With ArchivistaBox 2024/II, a new (automated) optimization for video files was presented.

With version 2024/III, the ArchivistaBox was given a new remote maintenance feature, which greatly simplifies support and can be activated directly by customers.

The new generation of the open source Linux distribution AVMultimedia was presented back in March 2024. This forms the basis for the ArchivistaBox systems.

As of AVMultimedia 2024/IV, the scanner drivers are now included. With the ‘scan2pdf’ tool, searchable PDF files can be created very efficiently.

The VPN solution Mullvad was integrated with AVMultimedia 2024/V. This allows the location to be defined on a country-specific basis using a simple tool.

With Capt2PDF, screen content can be very easily recorded into searchable PDF files from AVMultimedia 2024/VI onwards. The entire process takes place locally and transparently on the local desktop.

With version 2024/VII of the ArchivistaBox, the archive data carriers are now provided with extended structure data. The results of text recognition are now also included in the long-term copies.

With AVMultimedia 2024/IX, new versions of the video editing programs Kdenlive and Shotcut are available. This includes speech recognition to automatically create subtitle files from a video file.

The new master release for ArchivistaBox was released late, but still in 2024. The new generation is based on Devuan Daedalus and forms the basis for the years 2025 to 2029.
